Meeting Point:

Daneshouse Community Centre, Daneshouse Road, Burnley, BB10 1AF

FREE AND OPEN TO ALL.

Led by poet Ajaz Qureshi and Lian of Shine Coaching, the sessions offer Burnley residents a chance to slow down, reflect, and draw inspiration from the Leeds Liverpool Canal and its surrounding landscapes The workshops offer a friendly and welcoming space in the hope of bringing together creativity, community, and connection to the natural world.

Shine Coaching’s initiatives reflect a deep commitment to community well-being, connection, and creative expression. From mental health support to addressing stress, anxiety, and depression to community walks designed to combat isolation and encourage fitness. Ajaz Qureshi’s connection to the local area and residents make him a perfect walk-leader.

The first event will feature a walk along the canal from Daneshouse Community Centre to the Exbury Egg at Finsley Gate Wharf, a fascinating piece of public art that gets us thinking about cycles, seasons, and how nature’s rhythms mirror our own. It’s a great way to reflect on what these ideas mean to us, all while enjoying the fresh air and good company. There will also be coffee and cake for all participants.

The following sessions will be a chance to connect with the local landscape, explore seasonal themes, and take part in a laid-back writing activity. Whether you're a keen writer or just curious to try something new, these workshops are for anyone who loves the idea of walking, talking, and creating.

These projects are supported by Burnley Council, BPRCVS and Levelling Up funding through the UK Government.
